Gibraltar’s representation at the Labour Party Conference continued yesterday evening with the Gibraltar Reception hosted by the Chief Minister Fabian Picardo and featuring a keynote speech by the UK Minister for Europe and the Overseas Territories Stephen Doughty MP.
The Gibraltar Financial Services Commission today published its strategic plan for the next three years, outlining its priorities alongside a high-level delivery plan and business change programme for the period 2014-2017.
After more than 40 years delivering hits across the world the singer/songwriter Albert Hammond has chosen Gibraltar to bring his Songbook Tour 2014 to a close. The singer is set to perform on the Rock on 7th and 8th November. The concert was announced today by promoters Stage One and GibMedia and is sponsored by the Government of Gibraltar.
On Saturday 18th October, Childline Gibraltar will be holding a Treasure Hunt for children aged 9 to 12 inclusive in the Ocean Village area. Every effort has been made to give the participants a fun morning and it is events like these that help us to encourage children to raise funds for those less fortunate within our community.
The GSD has said that, while it is not in principle against the idea of reducing the voting age from 18 to 16 years, it believes that the proposal should be the “subject of considered debate and consultation” amongst the wider community before it is acted upon.
