Gibraltar’s representation at the Labour Party Conference continued yesterday evening with the Gibraltar Reception hosted by the Chief Minister Fabian Picardo and featuring a keynote speech by the UK Minister for Europe and the Overseas Territories Stephen Doughty MP.
The user os St Bernadette’s enjoyed a fun day recently. The day included sensory art, face painting, games and dancing followed by a BBQ in the Centre’s Garden. Care Agency staff were supported by Aon Insurance Managers (Gibraltar) Limited’s staff who were celebrating their “Global Service Day”.
Andrew Bonfante, CEO of the Borders and Coastguard Agency (BCA) and Eddie Yome, Commissioner of the Royal Gibraltar Police, have signed a Memorandum of Understanding between the two organisations, in a move expected to formalise their co-operation.
The Government have today noted the “unbelievable press statement” from Daniel Feetham’s GSD which, according to Government, attempts to “Paper over the huge cracks on the economic argument between them and Sir Peter Caruana”.
The press release quoting Sir Peter Caruana states that "Sir Peter has confirmed the GSLP/Liberal view at the election that the debt limit was being reached". Sir Peter said: "... I would have been willing whilst keeping within the economically prudent guidelines to have changes the law to increase the debt ceiling, the debt limit, which I acknowledge would have been necessary.”
In a press release issued earlier today, the Government have hit back in regards to GSD criticism, in the form of an advert pace solely in the Chronicle, attacking works at No 6.
In the statement, the Government reminds “Mr Feetham that the re-decoration of No 6 under Mr Caruana cost in Excess of £1.1m and was money spent on plush curtains and chandeliers.”
