European Commission Executive Vice-President Maroš Šefčovič, Spanish Minister for Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation José Manuel Albares and UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy, together with the Chief Minister of Gibraltar Fabian Picardo, met in Brussels earlier today.
His Excellency the Governor has been hosting tea parties for residents of the Elderly Residential Services. The first tea party took place on the 30th September and the second one took place today. A total of 80 residents have attended.
Sydney Knowles was the diving partner of legendary diving officer Commander Lionel ‘Buster’ Crabb. Both men were stationed in Gibraltar during World War Two. Sydney Knowles was born in 1921 and joined the Royal Navy on September 3rd 1939, his eighteenth birthday, and the day World War Two Broke.
This year’s Main Street Christmas lighting will occur on November 21st as from 6pm where a Christmas fair will be held in John Mackintosh Square. Father Christmas will make an appearance and stalls will sell arts and crafts as well a festive refreshments. The evening’s entertainment will be provided by a traditional school choir and local dance academies.
