The Royal Gibraltar Police (RGP) investigation into the allegation that ‘whistle-blowers’ were incentivised to provide evidence to the McGrail Inquiry “has not uncovered any evidence that meets the threshold for criminal prosecution for Misconduct in Public Office.”
The RGP says it wishes to reassure the community that, as at all previous Three Kings’ Cavalcades, they will have a “considerable presence” of both visible and covert police officers at today’s event.
The GSD says that the Minister for Tourism’s statements concerning cruise calls “cannot be left unanswered”, adding that this is unfortunately the case when it comes to statements generally made by this Government.
Below follows the Deputy Chief Minister and Liberal Party Leader, Dr Joseph Garcia's New Year message:
There can be no denying that Gibraltar, Europe and the world have faced a number of unprecedented challenges during 2022, and indeed for some years before that. These have delivered a devastating impact at a human and a wider economic and financial level. Yet we must look forward with hope to 2023 as the year when we finally overcome those threats, and as the moment when some semblance of normality is slowly restored.
The Minister for Business and Tourism, Vijay Daryanani, has announced that Gibraltar has seen a record number of 20 inaugural cruise calls to Gibraltar in 2022, beating the previous best of 19 in 2016.
