Ap2 24 -Thomson and Island Cruises Increase Gibraltar Calls

cruisesThe Government has welcomed the announcement by Thomson Cruises and Island Cruises that their calls to Gibraltar for the winter 2013 and summer 2014 programme have increased by 33%.

The notice comes weeks after Neil Duncan and Jacqui Nobile, senior executives of Thomson & Island, visited Gibraltar at the invitation of Neil Costa, Minister for Tourism, Commercial Affairs, Public Transport and The Port.

Apr 24 - Convent Guard Room to Replace No.6 Entrance

no6 convent placeThe Government will table proposals to improve the main entrance to No 6 Convent Place for discussion at tomorrow’s meeting of the Development and Planning Commission.

Changes will include the current Convent Guard room being converted into the new reception for No 6. The exterior of the building is set to be returned to its original shape before being repaired.

Apr 24 - School Kids Win Day Trip to Gibraltar Courtesy of Monarch Airlines

monarchAs part of an initiative coined by Monarch Airlines, a group of children from Harris Academy in Bromley UK, won the opportunity to take a day trip to Gibraltar, courtesy of the Airline.

Speaking to YGTV, Caroline Ward of Monarch’s Customer Experience department explained that the airline had done a huge amount of research, coming to the conclusion that customers want more enjoyment in their flying experience.

Apr 24 - PDP Claims the British Government is Miserably Failing to Defend Gibraltar Waters

pdpThe PDP are concerned at the clear suggestion made by environmental expert Dr Tydeman to the British Parliamentary Committee last week that the Royal Navy appear unwilling to answer requests by the Commissioner of the RGP to patrol British Gibraltar Territorial Waters for fear of upsetting the Spanish Government.

The party insists that the British Government is miserably failing to carry out its constitutional role to defend Gibraltar’s waters and thereby allow the RGP to enforce laws by carrying out arrests.
