European Commission Executive Vice-President Maroš Šefčovič, Spanish Minister for Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation José Manuel Albares and UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy, together with the Chief Minister of Gibraltar Fabian Picardo, met in Brussels earlier today.
Customs officers challenged a Spanish National at the North end of Eastern Beach as he made his way towards the frontier fence carrying a large black bag, earlier this week.
The man dropped the bag and attempted to flee the scene but was captured by Customs and arrested after a search of the bag and surrounding area resulted in the find of 9,000 cigarettes.
As from the beginning of February, the former Airport Carpark is set to house buses, and will no longer act as a public car park. The temporary coach park will then be closed entirely, when it reverts to the Ministry of Defence under the 2004 and 2011 Lands Agreement.
Gibtelecom yesterday announced their plans to purchase the Haven building at John Mackintosh Square on a 150-year lease, for £5.8 million. The building recently housed the Treasury and is half owned by the Government of Gibraltar.
