Gibraltar’s representation at the Labour Party Conference continued yesterday evening with the Gibraltar Reception hosted by the Chief Minister Fabian Picardo and featuring a keynote speech by the UK Minister for Europe and the Overseas Territories Stephen Doughty MP.
The European Commission has decided to extend the ambit of the State Aid investigation into Gibraltar’s Income Tax Act 2010. News giant Reuters claims that the EU executive will examine a practice which allows companies to request advance confirmation of whether certain income is subject to tax.
The Royal Gibraltar Regiment’s Band and Corps of Drums will be holding a charity concert this Sunday, 5th October, at 8pm in St Michael’s Cave. The concert is in aid of the Royal Gibraltar Regiment’s Benevolent Fund.
As the annual bathing season comes to a close, the Chamber’s board of directors has said that it would like to congratulate the Government for the “significant improvement” it has made to Gibraltar’s beaches this year. The additional facilities have, it says, enabled greater access to thousands of beachgoers this summer.
Royal Caribbean International has scheduled a full day call to Gibraltar by the world’s largest cruise ship. The “Allure of the Seas” will arrive at 8am and depart at 8pm on Wednesday 26 October 2016 en route from Cartagena to Las Palmas.
