Gibraltar’s representation at the Labour Party Conference continued yesterday evening with the Gibraltar Reception hosted by the Chief Minister Fabian Picardo and featuring a keynote speech by the UK Minister for Europe and the Overseas Territories Stephen Doughty MP.
Gibraltar Tourist Board will be participating in this year’s edition of IMEX, the prestigious international gathering for global meetings, events and incentive travel market professionals that will be taking place in Frankfurt, Germany from May 20th- 22nd.
Over three days, the packed programme of activities includes seminar sessions, an exhibition, and networking events.
Yesterday’s polling day saw the lowest turnout of voters of both European Elections that Gibraltar has been able to participate in, with a meagre 33% of the electorate voting. Taking to the streets to discuss the low turnout, the prospect of voting in a European election and Gibraltar’s tendency to complain about Europe not doing enough for them, mixed views were expressed by the general public, with the majority of individuals not having voted at all.
19 year old local resident Paul Joseph barber, of Devil’s Tower Camp, this morning appeared at the Magistrates Court on a number of charges including Driving whilst over the prescribed limit.
