Gibraltar’s representation at the Labour Party Conference continued yesterday evening with the Gibraltar Reception hosted by the Chief Minister Fabian Picardo and featuring a keynote speech by the UK Minister for Europe and the Overseas Territories Stephen Doughty MP.
Minister for Culture, Steven Linares travelled to San Marino by kind invitation of the Hon. Giuseppe Maria Morganti, Minister for Education and Culture of San Marino. The Government of San Marino treated this visit as Gibraltar’s first official encounter with the Republic.
Both Ministers, during a press conference held at the State Secretariat for Education and Culture of the Republic of San Marino, officially inaugurated and presented the new project of the Little Constellation Network: “Listen to the Sirens”, a cultural partnership between the Republic of San Marino and Gibraltar.
The Staff and students at Gibraltar College participated in a 'charity day' on Monday 24 February 2014 in order to create awareness and promote the importance of supporting our community and the less fortunate. With this in mind students from each level organised different events throughout the day. In addition there was also fund raising events at break time for the whole week.
Opposition Leader Daniel Feetham has given notice on to propose to move a motion in Parliament, calling on the Government to provide ‘an immediate comprehensive statement to the House as to its intentions in relation to the regulation of fishing in British Gibraltar Territorial Waters and whether it intends to require members of the La Linea and Algeciras Cofradias to apply for licenses in Gibraltar to fish with nets in BGTW’
