Gibraltar’s representation at the Labour Party Conference continued yesterday evening with the Gibraltar Reception hosted by the Chief Minister Fabian Picardo and featuring a keynote speech by the UK Minister for Europe and the Overseas Territories Stephen Doughty MP.
The GSD has hit back at the Government’s attempt to blame them for their failure to commence works on the new Power Station, three years into the tenure in office. The Party has claimed that if the contract negotiated by the previous GSD administration had not bee cancelled, Gibraltar would have a new power station with improved distribution infrastructure.

The European Commission has decided to extend the ambit of the State Aid investigation into Gibraltar’s Income Tax Act 2010. News giant Reuters claims that the EU executive will examine a practice which allows companies to request advance confirmation of whether certain income is subject to tax.
