Gibraltar’s representation at the Labour Party Conference continued yesterday evening with the Gibraltar Reception hosted by the Chief Minister Fabian Picardo and featuring a keynote speech by the UK Minister for Europe and the Overseas Territories Stephen Doughty MP.
Anthony Gilbert, aged 38, of Constitution House, appeared at the Magistrates Court today charged with Importing a Prohibited Import, this being a Rigid Hulled Inflatable Boat (RHIB). He was found guilty and fined £2,000. The RHIB was confiscated.
Following the Chief Minister visit to Malta this week he touched upon a number of positive local matters that have been mentioned in the news recently. Commenting on the progress of the soon to be opened Commonwealth park Mr. Picardo said, ‘On our way to Convent Place, we drove slightly out of our way so that I could see the excellent work being done at the new Commonwealth Park which I know will soon be providing a much-needed splash of green space for Gibraltar’s families.
The RGP was recently presented with a state of the art ‘Smart Board’ by the Bonita Trust. Fitted into the Training Department at New Mole House, the interactive wipe board will be immensely useful when giving briefings that include plans, maps and diagrams.
