Gibraltar’s representation at the Labour Party Conference continued yesterday evening with the Gibraltar Reception hosted by the Chief Minister Fabian Picardo and featuring a keynote speech by the UK Minister for Europe and the Overseas Territories Stephen Doughty MP.
Linda Castro, the Gibraltar Health Authority’s very own Dermatology Specialist Nurse, has been awarded second place in the British Journal of Nursing’s 2014 Awards in the Dermatology Nurse of the Year category. Linda received this prestigious award in the BJN Awards Ceremony in London last month.
Gibraltar is set to welcome UK Reggae giant Steel Pulse this July, courtesy of Big Man Entertainment. The band is famed with being influential in promoting multi-culturalism in British society in the 1970’s. The duo’s early success caught the attention of legendary reggae label Island Records, who were responsible for giving them their first break supporting Bob Marley on his European Tour.
Following yesterday’s DPC meeting, and the numerous articles in the local media today, the GFA has said it would like to clarify the position regarding "unauthorised work" being carried out on the site of the proposed Europa Point Stadium.
