June 06 - Lidington Writes To Defenders Of Gibraltar

lidinThe Minister for Europe, David Lidington, has written to the Defenders of Gibraltar Group clarifying his position on the frequent Guardia Civil incursions. In the letter, Mr Lidington says that he attaches the “highest priority to the safety and liberty of all Gibraltarians” citing as an example of the UK’s commitment the summoning several months ago of the Spanish ambassador to the Foreign Office following the attempted apprehension of a Gibraltarian boat.
