The Gibraltar Health Authority is now inviting nominations for the 2015/16 staff awards programme from patients, patients’ relatives, carers and friends who have received or witnessed the provision of excellent care either to themselves or others. The programme celebrates and recognises the contributions of staff responsible for transforming lives for the benefit of society and reinforces the importance of service, innovation, teamwork and leadership. There are eight categories and nominations must be supported by a citation detailing the care experienced or witnessed by the nominator.
In response to an issue raised in a GBC interview by the Leader of the Opposition, the Government says it can confirm that Lloyd’s Register have been engaged to carry out a full Health and Safety Report in addition to the scoping study on which they are currently engaged. The "scoping", says Number Six, is simply the work of setting the parameters for the job of adding an extra level of certification to the process which the Government has decided to add, to be provided by Lloyd’s Register.
