The Government has sent a further 382 complaints about the border delays to the European Commission. These complaints have been collected electronically through the Government website and related to persons crossing the border into Spain or exiting Spain into Gibraltar.
The complaints covered either the length of time taken to cross the border or the questions asked by the Spanish authorities when individuals exited Spain.
The Chief Minister left Gibraltar yesterday for a visit to the United States. He first flies to Washington DC where he will have several meetings, at least one of which will be at the Congress. He will also meet Gibraltarian students on the Internship Program.
In a protest against the new rotation system implemented by the Customs Department, Unite the Union claims that it has not formed part of the negotiating process in the introduction of the new system . They add that although they no longer hold the negotiating rights for Customs Officers, however they do hold representational rights for their members.
