Three Undergraduate students have undertaken placements with the City Fire Brigade (Operations and Fire Safety Departments) under the Student Summer Placement Scheme, from 1 July to the 30 August.
Thirteen Officers of HM Customs Enforcement Division recently qualified as operators of the SAFRAN Morpho Ion Trace Detection apparatus. This equipment tests for the extant and past presence of narcotics, explosives, chemical and biological agents and has already produced valuable results in the first few weeks of operation.
Consequent to a report from an off-duty Officer of HM Customs, an area search of the Eastern Beach coastline was conducted by HM Customs assisted by the RGP Marine Unit.
