European Commission Executive Vice-President Maroš Šefčovič, Spanish Minister for Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation José Manuel Albares and UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy, together with the Chief Minister of Gibraltar Fabian Picardo, met in Brussels earlier today.
The Gibraltar Regulatory Authority will tomorrow set out to raise awareness of Data Protection matters, by hosting a stand in the Piazza from 10am – 2pm. They will focus particularly on those connected to the protection of privacy online. The Commissioner has worked with the Education Department in order to promote the protection of personal data in the digital world.
Following the Government’s statement yesterday, insisting that Opposition Leader Daniel Feetham was ‘obsessed with the Joanna Hernandez case’ the party has said that it will not be deterred ‘by this attempt by the Chief Minister to deflect attention from the central issue’.
Feetham insisted that ‘there is significant concern across the community about the manner in which this investigation is being conducted. He went on to insist that there is a sharp contrast with the way in which the GSLP-Liberals used Ms Hernandez for political ends in Opposition
