Gibraltar’s representation at the Labour Party Conference continued yesterday evening with the Gibraltar Reception hosted by the Chief Minister Fabian Picardo and featuring a keynote speech by the UK Minister for Europe and the Overseas Territories Stephen Doughty MP.
The recently published legislation ‘Nature Protection Act (Powers and Duties of Wildlife Wardens) Regulations 2013’ gives powers and duties to officers within the Department of the Environment to act as wildlife wardens under the provisions of the Nature Protection Act 2013.
Conservative MEP Julie Girling has expressed her disappointment on hearing of lies perpetuated by her Lib Dem colleague Sir Graham Watson MEP.
Commenting on the matter, Mrs Girling said, ‘Earlier this week, Sir Graham released a press release which implied Conservatives voted against extending European air passenger rights to people flying in and out of Gibraltar.
In late July of this year, Spain imposed a regime of heightened and arbitrary searches and delays at the Gibraltar frontier. Most commentators, including myself, predicted that the restrictions would not be imposed for long. As 2013 draws to a close, why then do we still see considerable disruption at the frontier?
