The Government has reacted to comments made by the Opposition spokesman on Traffic and Transport but says it is saddened that he should use the term ‘schizophrenia’ in such a thoughtless way adding that sufferers from this chronic, severe, and disabling disorder will be particularly upset that he should misuse this medical term for cheap political gain.
A 74-year old Spanish national was this morning handed a suspended prison sentence after pleading guilty to having stolen £343,400 from another elderly woman. Margarita Gomez Sanchez was sentenced to 18 months in prison suspended for two years by Puisne Judge Barrington Black. The sentence means that Gomez Sanchez will not have to go to prison unless she re-offends during the next two years.
