Gibraltar’s representation at the Labour Party Conference continued yesterday evening with the Gibraltar Reception hosted by the Chief Minister Fabian Picardo and featuring a keynote speech by the UK Minister for Europe and the Overseas Territories Stephen Doughty MP.
Last Wednesday, the European Commission adopted a proposal for an EU Regulation amending the 2004 EU Regulation on denied boarding compensation and other passenger rights.
The 2004 Regulation is one of the remaining EU aviation measures that still contains the suspension clause. The proposal for the amendment does not seek to remove the suspension clause.
Following an art exhibition held at Sacarello’s portraying a number of abstract pieces produced by users of the St. Bernadette’s Resource Centre, in October last year, Minister Sacramento received a cheque for £2000, last week, on behalf of the Care Agency, for the paintings that were sold.

A presentation ceremony took place at Devils Tower Camp today involving 12 soldiers from the Regiment receiving their City & Guilds Level 1 and 2 Certificates in Maths and English.
Lieutenant Commander Fiona Cameron, Officer Commanding Joint Education and Training Unit (JELIC) presented the Certificates and said, 'It is an absolute pleasure to present these certificates this morning, the students have really applied themselves, this education is an essential requirement for promotion so it will benefit future career options.'
