Gibraltar’s representation at the Labour Party Conference continued yesterday evening with the Gibraltar Reception hosted by the Chief Minister Fabian Picardo and featuring a keynote speech by the UK Minister for Europe and the Overseas Territories Stephen Doughty MP.
The RGP was recently presented with a state of the art ‘Smart Board’ by the Bonita Trust. Fitted into the Training Department at New Mole House, the interactive wipe board will be immensely useful when giving briefings that include plans, maps and diagrams.
The Gibraltar Honours Board is receiving nominations for the Gibraltar Award 2014 and for the New Years Honours 2015. The Board would like to invite the public to forward nominations by 9th May 2014 for consideration at the next Board meeting.
The Board insists that it is important that nominations for any awards are strong, with supporting information. Tomorrow evening, UK political party UKIP will launch their European Parliament Campaign in Gibraltar, ahead of May’s elections. During the event, at the Eliott Hotel, the party present their South West and Gibraltar candidate Gawain Towler, who believes that the UK Government is not doing enough for Gibraltar in the face of the current on going dispute with Spain.
Today the Gibraltar Association of Pension Fund Administrators hosted an extremely well attended all-day training conference on Gibraltar’s relatively young Pensions industry, covering topics such as the recently implemented QROPs and QNUPS.
The course was hosted at the Finance Centre and was at almost full capacity with a number of Pension Fund Association members present, including Castiel Windsor, The Castle Group, the European Financial Planning Group and Sovereign Trust Gibraltar.
