July 01 - Sandé And Murs Will Top The Bill!

Ministry of Culture Press Release On Mega Festival

The Ministry of Culture is pleased to announce that Brit Award-winning Emeli Sandé will be headlining this year’s Gibraltar Music Festival. Olly Murs – one of the most successful pop stars of the past decade – will also be performing at the Victoria Stadium on Saturday 7th September 2013.

Two further international acts are already confirmed: Level 42, a band with a career spanning five decades, and La Oreja de Van Gogh, a Latin Grammy- winning and Grammy-nominated Spanish pop band. More international acts will be added to the bill in the coming weeks.

July 01 - TB Incident Update

On 20th June, it was announced that a child attending two nurseries in Gibraltar had been found to have tuberculosis and the GHA had begun TB testing as a precautionary measure on the persons with whom the child might have been in close contact.

GHA Infection Control Nurses have now completed the contact tracing exercise. In total, 102 children and 12 adults were identified as possible contacts in two nurseries and offered skin tests. The offer was declined by 5 parents.

July 01 - Community Care Delighted With Grant

The Trustees of The Gibraltar Community Care Trust and the Directors of Gibraltar Community Care Limited are "delighted" with the news that the Government of Gibraltar will make available £35 million for the Trust and the Company.

A spokesperson said: "These funds are essential if the charity is going to be able, once again, to build up its own reserves. This grant will provide an income so that in future, Gibraltar Community Care will be self-sufficient and will not have to rely on grants from the Government.
