European Commission Executive Vice-President Maroš Šefčovič, Spanish Minister for Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation José Manuel Albares and UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy, together with the Chief Minister of Gibraltar Fabian Picardo, met in Brussels earlier today.
About two weeks ago I came across a viral video on Facebook of an actress being filmed walking through the streets of New York being harassed over 100 times by cat-callers. I shared the video to my timeline and the result was interesting. The video showed a mix of cat-calls; some men said things like “damn, girl!” and “hey baby!” and others told her to have a good day. When viewing the video as a woman you understand exactly what’s going on and what she’s experiencing, when viewing as a man the opinions may differ vastly.
The GSD says it has received reports that a serious health and safety incident has occurred at the site of Charles Bruzon House adjacent to three schools and that the incident has affected Governor's Meadow school. The Opposition says it shares the concerns of parents of children at those schools regarding the safety measures in place. Despite what it describes as “the denial by Government of the incident”, we GSD says it is aware of at least 30 witnesses who claim otherwise. The "dismissive attitude" taken by Government towards these reports “is both unreasonable and of great concern” says the party.
The Government has said that the latest statement from the GSD on fishing with nets is “utterly ridiculous and reflects the dangerous lack of understanding” by the Leader of the Opposition of the working of the Constitution in relation to law enforcement.
