European Commission Executive Vice-President Maroš Šefčovič, Spanish Minister for Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation José Manuel Albares and UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy, together with the Chief Minister of Gibraltar Fabian Picardo, met in Brussels earlier today.
The Government says it is pleased to welcome Gryphon AG to Gibraltar, following their acquisition of the Gibraltar Casino in Ocean Village. Gryphon AG is the investment arm of the Novomatic Group, a world-class operator of casinos and recognized provider of machine games based in Austria.
The Gibraltar Interpol bureau operated for the Royal Gibraltar Police at the Gibraltar Coordinating Centre for Criminal Intelligence and Drugs has this week hosted a revitalisation visit. Gibraltar has hosted two officers from Interpol’s National Central Bureau Coordination Sub-Directorate for Europe based at the Interpol General Secretariat in Lyon and also an officer from Interpol UK.
The Government has approved for publication the transposition of the so- called CRD IV package which transposes, via a Regulation and a Directive, the new global standards on bank capital (the Basel III agreement).
The European Citizens Action Service (ECAS) has been invited by the European Commission to provide additional comments on the delays at the land frontier between Gibraltar and Spain by 6th January 2014.
