The PDP deeply regrets the latest escalation in the dispute over our territorial waters which occurred yesterday and was marked by the entry and presence of the Spanish warship P 64 Tarifa into our waters off the Eastern side of the Rock which continued for over 45 minutes. This is a serious further challenge to the sovereignty of our waters.

Only last week the PDP reminded the Government that Gibraltarians should not continue to be subjected to regular humiliation and the party has repeatedly encouraged the Government to impress on the British Foreign Office the importance of ensuring that the Governor has the necessary assets to enable him to fulfil his constitutional role namely the Defence of our sovereign territory. It is vital that the rule of law is not undermined throughout Gibraltar (including in its waters) and that our enforcement agencies including the RGP are able to carry out their role.

June 12 - Sunborn Dry Dock Entry Delayed

sThe Sunborn floating hotel was unable to be lowered into the sea to commence its journey into Gibdock in the early hours of this morning. Although the complex operation was due to start at 6:30am, the weather conditions were judged to be less than ideal and the scheduled lowering into the sea from its transportation vessel was postponed until 9:30am.
