Gibraltar’s representation at the Labour Party Conference continued yesterday evening with the Gibraltar Reception hosted by the Chief Minister Fabian Picardo and featuring a keynote speech by the UK Minister for Europe and the Overseas Territories Stephen Doughty MP.
Charles Durante will give a talk on Comparative Religion on Tuesday 10 June at 8:00pm at the John Mackintosh Hall (Charles Hunt Room). The talk will focus on the salient teachings of the five great world religions: Hinduism, Buddhism, Judaism, Islam and Christianity.
The Queen’s Hotel has closed to make way for a significant redevelopment of the area by the Government. This follows the purchase by the Government of the remaining lease on the hotel and the earlier acquisition of the adjoining Queen’s Cinema which will be the site of cultural facilities including a new theatre.
The Catholic Charismatic Renewal of Gibraltar (CCR) is inviting the young people across Gibraltar to come together in one “simultaneous gigantic worldwide encounter” tomorrow the 31st May in a World Youth Vigil of Prayer to be held at St Theresa’s Church at 12.30pm.
