European Commission Executive Vice-President Maroš Šefčovič, Spanish Minister for Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation José Manuel Albares and UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy, together with the Chief Minister of Gibraltar Fabian Picardo, met in Brussels earlier today.
The Gibraltar Football Association is happy to announce that the Gibraltar Futsal National “A” Team will be travelling to Krosno, Poland to participate in a UEFA Friendly Four Nations tournament. This will further help the team prepare itself for the UEFA Futsal EURO qualifying rounds in 2015.
After a few unseasonably warm weeks, cold northerly winds are set to hit Gibraltar as from Friday night. According to the BBC’s forecasters, temperatures are predicted to drop to 10C on Friday night and 9C on Saturday.
The last lecture in the current series ‘History of Gibraltar in Five Parts’ is to be given by Mr Dennis Beiso on the subject of ‘History of an Identity.’ The lecture was scheduled for Thursday 21st November but it has been postponed. It will now be given at the John Mackintosh Hall on Thursday 12th December at 7pm.
The seventh and final member of the Vine Trust Gibraltar work party team has returned home from Tanzania. Methodist Minister, Fidel Patron joined the other six work-party volunteers from Gibraltar to help on community projects near Moshi in northern Tanzania. During the two-week long trip the team worked on two schools, which are attended by a large number of orphans, and built a home for a disabled father and his family. As well as lending his support to the construction work, Fidel also opted to climb Mount Kilimanjaro during his trip.
