Gibraltar’s representation at the Labour Party Conference continued yesterday evening with the Gibraltar Reception hosted by the Chief Minister Fabian Picardo and featuring a keynote speech by the UK Minister for Europe and the Overseas Territories Stephen Doughty MP.
So it’s officially Christmastime. It’s everyone’s favourite time of year unless you’re lumbered with all the gift-buying and cooking. If you’re still a teen or in your early 20’s chances are you still see some sort of magic in the season. Sure, we still have to buy gifts, but the pressure to buy every family member and the dog a gift isn’t really there yet. After the Christmas hustle and bustle, we arrive at the most anticipated day of the year: New Year’s Eve.
On Monday, the residents of Mount Alvernia were treated to their Christmas party organised by the Friends of Mount Alvernia. Also attending the party were the Chief Minister, the outgoing Minister for the Elderly, Samantha Sacramento and the new Minister for the Elderly, Dr John Cortes.
As the festive season comes into full swing, arrangements are well underway for the organisation of the Three Kings Cavalcade, organised by the Cavalcade Committee. The Gibraltar Cultural Services have been working closely with the committee to ensure that once again sweets are distributed at the event.
