European Commission Executive Vice-President Maroš Šefčovič, Spanish Minister for Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation José Manuel Albares and UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy, together with the Chief Minister of Gibraltar Fabian Picardo, met in Brussels earlier today.
The Russian frigate Yaroslav Mudry arrived in the Spanish port of Ceuta yesterday to take on fuel and water supplies during a short visit. The frigate is part of the Russian Federation’s Baltic fleet and has been operational since 2009. The warship is set to leave Ceuta this evening.
The statements attributed to PP Minister for Europe, Sñr Mendez de Vigo, have no basis in reality or fact and “represent no more than a financial flight of fancy,” according to the assessment of the Gibraltar Government.
