Gibraltar’s representation at the Labour Party Conference continued yesterday evening with the Gibraltar Reception hosted by the Chief Minister Fabian Picardo and featuring a keynote speech by the UK Minister for Europe and the Overseas Territories Stephen Doughty MP.
The Chamber of Commerce has issued a mixed response to the news that the Government will be introducing new working hours for public sector workers as from 12th May. The Chamber says it has been aware of the Government’s intention to introduce these new hours for some time and in principle opposed these as it would lead to disparate working conditions between the public sector and the majority of the private sector.
The GSD says that Executive Members met with concerned residents of Waterport Terraces yesterday evening to listen to their concerns over the tobacco problem in the area, something which, the party says, is having anti-social consequences within the Estate.
