European Commission Executive Vice-President Maroš Šefčovič, Spanish Minister for Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation José Manuel Albares and UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy, together with the Chief Minister of Gibraltar Fabian Picardo, met in Brussels earlier today.
Launched yesterday by Minister for Tourism and Consumer Affairs, was Gibraltar’s first tourist app of its kind, developed by Young Enterprise students, Develop I.T. The app is aimed predominantly at the local market as it includes live flight information from the Gibraltar International Airport, live radio streams, and updated bus routes.
The app is currently free and runs on advertising sales and the support of the Gibraltar Tourist Board. At the moment, it is available for all IOS and Android devices but the team is looking into the possibility of developing the app with Windows devices.
The Government is today publishing the independent expert report on The Management of Marine Living Resources in the Waters around Gibraltar, which has been produced by the working group set up last year to consider and report on these matters.
This year Her Majesty’s Government of Gibraltar has embarked on entirely new works to ensure accessibility at all the beaches, where possible. Access Points, ramps and facilities where necessary and possible, have been redesigned in consultation with the Gibraltar Health Authority’s Occupational Therapy section and in direct liaison with the Technical Services Department.
