Gibraltar’s representation at the Labour Party Conference continued yesterday evening with the Gibraltar Reception hosted by the Chief Minister Fabian Picardo and featuring a keynote speech by the UK Minister for Europe and the Overseas Territories Stephen Doughty MP.
The Government has today announced the issue of the Gibraltar Silver Royal, a legal tender coin with a face value of £20 containing one troy ounce of pure fine silver with a millesimal fineness of 999 (99.9%).
The new £20 silver bullion coin, which is being minted by the Austrian Mint - one of the World's leading mints - will be launched this week in Berlin at the World Money Fair 2014.
The Miss Gibraltar Office has extended the closing date for prospective contestants who wish to sign up for this year’s Pageant, to Friday 21st February 2014.
The first 10 candidates to sign will each receive £400. The winner will receive a cash prize of £5,500 and will represent Gibraltar at the Miss World Pageant, to be held in November 2014, in London.
A Finnish company that specialises in the development of premium marinas and advanced floating solutions has today announced their plans the build a 4.4 million euro floating structure in the area of Westview park and the current GASA swimming pool. The Company claims that with the project in mind, the Government of Gibraltar was keen to offer healthy lifestyle options to the public, as well as extending the swimming facilities at GASA.
