Nov 05 - Royal Gibraltar Police Vs Northamptonshire Constabulary Football Match
The Royal Gibraltar Police’s football team flew to the United Kingdom this past weekend and competed in a football match against the Northamptonshire Constabulary. The opportunity arose following contacts between Commissioner Eddie Yome of the RGP and Deputy Chief Constable Martin Jelley of Northamptonshire Constabulary. Both officers attended the same Strategic Command Course in 2008 and have maintained a close professional and personal relationship since then.
Nov 05 - New Christmas Stamps Announced
The 2013 Christmas stamps are now available and on sale at the Post Office here in Gibraltar. The stamps were designed and produced by Stephen Perera to be "colourful and decorative".
iPad Air arrives in Gibraltar
The all new iPad Air is now available in Gibraltar at Newton Systems. The new iPad is now 20% thinner and weighs less than 500 grams, making it the lightest iPad to date.
It still has the same sized display, but now it’s Retina, making it one of the most beautiful screens to look at. The all new design makes it sleeker and smaller, but with an A7 chip and 64-bit architecture, it’s the fastest iPad to date.
Nov 05 - RGP Midterm Camp Success
School Liaison Officers of the Royal Gibraltar Police’s Neighbourhood Policing Unit recently held a mid-term camp for children aged 8 to 10. The twenty-one participating children were treated to a range of activities balanced between exposing them to police work and fun activities.
On Monday the 28th of October the children enjoyed negotiating an assault course, the next day they were treated to a visit of New Mole House Police Headquarters which included the Custody Suite, Control Room and Crime Scene Investigator’s Office where they were shown fingerprinting techniques.
