European Commission Executive Vice-President Maroš Šefčovič, Spanish Minister for Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation José Manuel Albares and UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy, together with the Chief Minister of Gibraltar Fabian Picardo, met in Brussels earlier today.
The Gibraltar Charities Forum will hold its first meeting on Thursday 27th June in the Charles Hunt Room in the John Mackintosh Hall at 6pm.
The aim of this Forum is to offer local registered charities a place to share, discuss and meet. There is an active closed Facebook page of the same name to enable prompt contact between charities.
The Forum has been set up by the founder of the Gibraltar Multiple Sclerosis Support Society to provide a place where charities can communicate and discuss any issues they wish to.
The GSD has issued a statement on the recent Government explanations in the press and in Parliament in relation to the No. 6 registered companies, saying that they “give rise to more questions than they provide answers.”

As matters stand, absolutely nothing can be gleaned from the Government’s statements, which addresses the Opposition’s suspicion that the Government has been caught out.
This evening during the 51st Miss Gibraltar pageant, 22 year old Client Relationship Manager Assistant, Maroua Kharbouch was crowned Miss Gibraltar 2013. At the ceremony, held in the John mackintosh Hall this evening, Miss Gibraltar 2012 winner, Jessica Baldachino passed on her crown. 2nd and 1st Princess awards were presented to Stacey Britto and Jamie-Lee Randall.
The Chief Minister recently wrote to UK Prime Minister David Cameron to request that the OECD and Council of Europe Convention on Mutual Administrative Assistance in Tax Matters be extended to Gibraltar. Such an extension forms an integral part of the Government of Gibraltar’s continuing policy of having Gibraltar recognised as being at the very forefront of jurisdictions seeking to eradicate tax evasion.
