European Commission Executive Vice-President Maroš Šefčovič, Spanish Minister for ForeignAffairs José Manuel Albares and UK Foreign Secretary David Cameron, together with the Chief Minister of Gibraltar Fabian Picardo, met in Brussels on Thursday 16th May.
The Chief Minister, Fabian Picardo, is travelling to Seville today to appear in two television programmes. Mr Picardo is a guest interviewee in the Canal Sur TV Breakfast Show tomorrow at 10 am. He will also record an interview for the Andalusian Local Network Onda Luz Television. The programme is being broadcast at 10.30 in the evening, tomorrow Wednesday. It is also available on www.ondaluzsevilla.tv.
A lecture exploring Gibraltar’s engineering heritage will take place next month. The talk will be delivered by Dr Edward P. F. Rose and is entitled: “Removing the Rock: Contributions of Quarrying and Tunnelling Companies Royal Engineers to Gibraltar’s Engineering Geological Heritage from World War II.” It is hosted by the Gibraltar Group of Professional Engineers.
The Minister for Sport and Culture, Steven Linares, has sent his best wishes to the team that will be representing Gibraltar at the European Backgammon Championship to be held this week. The event is being held over four days in Helsingor, Denmark.
Unite the Union says it is saddened by RBS International announcement that it will be carrying out a restructure and, as a result, a number of jobs will be lost locally. Unite says that it has been informed that between nine to 14 roles will be affected by the decision.
