The Royal Gibraltar Police (RGP) investigation into the allegation that ‘whistle-blowers’ were incentivised to provide evidence to the McGrail Inquiry “has not uncovered any evidence that meets the threshold for criminal prosecution for Misconduct in Public Office.”
On Sunday 14th April, The STM Group are holding a fun run around the Rock, in aid of local children’s charity Wobbles. The run will begin at 10am at Casemates Square and will be split into a 5-kilometre town run or a 10 kilometre run around the Rock, for those brave and fit enough.
For those wishing to enter the 10K race, a £10 entry fee must be submitted in advance, or £15 on the day. Those entering the 5K run are asked to pay either £5 in advance or £10 on the day. Event t-shirts will be on sale at £5 each, but participants must order before 28th March. Individuals who raise more than £25 for the charity will receive a t-shirt for free.
Minister for Health, Dr John Cortes, recently paid a visit to the local branch of the Red Cross to learn and explore the various services they provide. ‘I feel I should be aware of all aspects of health provision within Gibraltar and not just those provided by the GHA,’ noted the Minister. ‘I am also a great believer in the value of the work done by the voluntary sector.’
Dr. Cortes was briefed by Eddie Davies, the Chairman, Edgar Lavarello, the Treasurer and Pat Dalli, the Welfare Officer. He also met volunteers George Martin and Francis Duran.
Tourism Minister Neil Costa recently attended a travel trade road show in Birmingham, which was hosted by the Gibraltar Tourist Board. The event was attended by 54 travel agents from 21 travel companies of which 14 were independent travel agencies. Representatives from Monarch Airlines and Birmingham Airport were also present.
The companies co-exhibiting with the Tourist Board were; the Bland Group, M H Bland, Classic Collection Holidays, Cresta Holidays, Dive Charters Gibraltar, Gibraltar Taxi Association, Monarch Airlines, Parodytur/Parody Holidays and Superbreak.
This afternoon, the Department of Education has hosted a Careers Fair aimed at students of Westside, Bayside and College students. The event promises to be the biggest fair to date with over sixty stalls showcasing local companies.
