The Chief Minister, Fabian Picardo, today met with the Foreign Secretary, Rt Hon Lord David Cameron, at the Foreign Office in London in order to discuss the outstanding issues and matters in the ongoing negotiation with the European Union in relation to Gibraltar.
The Gibraltar Financial Services Commission ("GFSC") has today published a Consultation Paper (“the paper”) on proposed changes to the regulation of personal pension schemes. The paper has been developed at the request of the Government of Gibraltar and is designed to support the further development of the market for personal pensions and ensure that personal pensions continue to be subject to appropriate regulation and investor protection.
The GEA wishes to inform its customers that in order for Spark Energy North Mole Power Plant to carry out essential works to the their generating plant, there will be a requirement to cut off electricity supplies to most areas in Gibraltar on Friday 5 June 2015 from approximately 0200 hrs to 0400hrs.
The Government has said that the Opposition’s latest “outburst” on the subject of an allegation of bullying trainees suggests that they have lost the ability to read. Having said that, Number Six notes that this particular allegation is again credited to Mr Hammond, who is not a Member of Parliament and who therefore, argues the Government, cannot speak for the Opposition. That notwithstanding, says the Government, Mr Hammond criticizes the Chief Minister for failing to manage the investigation ‘in a fair and transparent manner.’
