European Commission Executive Vice-President Maroš Šefčovič, Spanish Minister for Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation José Manuel Albares and UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy, together with the Chief Minister of Gibraltar Fabian Picardo, met in Brussels earlier today.
The Government has today insisted that they have taken a very serious view of the ccontinuing incursions by Spanish state vessels into British Gibraltar Territorial Waters, this morning.
A No.6 spokesperson noted, ‘this follows the incursion by a Spanish vessel conducting an oceanographic survey escorted by first two and then three Guardia Civil patrol boats. The Spanish state vessels were challenged by the Royal Navy and the Royal Gibraltar Police.
Two drama practitioners from the famous Shakespeare’s Globe Theatre will be visiting Gibraltar to carry out workshops with students from both Bayside and Westside Schools. Sponsored by the Kusuma Trust, the visit will take place from the 4th to the 8th of November and will see the students explore issues of Shakespearean stagecraft and genre, while also working on specific plays.
In a statement, Equality Rights Group Chairman Felix Alvarez has expressed ‘much gratitude and appreciation for the public position the Chief Minister has expressed with regard to the Thumbs Up Campaign’s efforts in lobbying for the British government to seriously consider the people of Gibraltar’s historical and multiple merits with regards to the awarding of a suitable honour to the Rock.’
