European Commission Executive Vice-President Maroš Šefčovič, Spanish Minister for Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation José Manuel Albares and UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy, together with the Chief Minister of Gibraltar Fabian Picardo, met in Brussels earlier today.
The Ministry for Culture has announced the programme of events for this year’s May Day on Wednesday 1st May. The event, being organised by the Gibraltar Trades Council, will return to Casemates Square this year, commencing at 11am with a Fun Day, which will include live music and performances.
In response to Opposition Minister for the Environment, Jaime Netto’s letter to Dr. Cortes, on the issue of Ape Management in Gibraltar the Environment Minister insists that the movement of wild animals cannot be fully controlled. He adds that culling monkeys is only a short-term measure.
Dr. Cortes also insisted that the Opposition is being ‘worse than cheap’ and grossly irresponsible for almost hoping that more monkey bites will occur. He also states that the GSD position has caused Dr. Cortes real embarrassment when talking to international experts. He insists that the GSD left the current Government with a poorly managed macaque population.
Commanding Officer Lt Col Colin Risso presented a framed Army football strip to LCpl Bruce-smith as a thank you from the Regiment for representing the Army at Football in the Under 23’s.
LCpl Bruce-smith, now 23, has been in the RG for six years and has been representing the Army Under 23’s since 2009. He is on his final season of this age category before hopefully continuing onto the Army Senior Team.
The Gibraltar Multiple Sclerosis Society is planning a "Dress in Orange for MS day" for Tuesday 30th April, to mark both MS Awareness week (29th April to 5th May) and their official launch.
The group would appreciate it if schools, places of work, groups, etc could join in and raise some awareness (and funds).
