Gibraltar’s representation at the Labour Party Conference continued yesterday evening with the Gibraltar Reception hosted by the Chief Minister Fabian Picardo and featuring a keynote speech by the UK Minister for Europe and the Overseas Territories Stephen Doughty MP.
A book setting out the story of the residents of the island of Menorca who came to the Rock to trade, work and settle during the time when both Gibraltar and Menorca were under British rule has been translated from Catalan into English by local translator Brian J Porro.
Gibraltar Cultural Services, on behalf of the Ministry for Culture, is pleased to announce the return of the Teatro Lirico Andaluz to perform in Gibraltar as part of the Autumn Festival Cultural programme.
During the periods 20th to 30th August and 3rd to 10th September the Moorish Castle will be illuminated in red and white to mark the start of Gibraltar’s National Celebrations, organised by the Self Determination for Gibraltar Group (SDGG) in conjunction with Gibraltar Cultural Services. From the 31st August to the 2nd September the Castle will be illuminated in green, to raise awareness of GibSams Suicide Prevention Campaign.
Public Health Gibraltar has revised the guidance for small, seated, ticketed events. This means that ticket holders need to be either fully vaccinated with two doses or have had a negative COVID test within the previous 24 hours in order to attend the event.
