European Commission Executive Vice-President Maroš Šefčovič, Spanish Minister for Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation José Manuel Albares and UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy, together with the Chief Minister of Gibraltar Fabian Picardo, met in Brussels earlier today.
In early February German national Hans Con pleaded not guilty to assault occasioning actual bodily harm following an incident in which he allegedly assaulted a woman.
Standing before the Supreme Court this morning, following a 3-month period in custody, Mr. Hans was granted bail by Puisne Judge Barrington Black. The charges were changed from Grievous Bodily Harm to actual bodily harm in Mr. Con’s previous court appearance.
Commenting on Yesterday’s European Parliament vote to exclude Gibraltar from Europe’s Single Sky legislation, the GSD Opposition has insisted that the decision is ‘more about political expediency than the concern of the European Parliament for people.’
They believe that this is a prime example of growing European distrust towards the EU.
Local man Borja Polvillo Martin (also known as Borja Bossino), born 25/08/82, was today sentenced to 10 months imprisonment by Justice Barrington Black in the Supreme Court following the theft of a neighbour’s laptop.
Mr. Bossino, represented by Justin Phillips, had a previous string of drug related convictions and pleaded guilty to the charge of Domestic Burglary following an incident that occurred in October 2013. Bossino committed the crime whilst under a probation order placed on him by the court in August 2012 for former drug related charges.
