HM Government of Gibraltar Officials today met Unite the Union and Borders and Coastguard Agency (BCA) representatives concerning the scheduled Industrial Action commencing Friday 24th May 2024 at the Gibraltar/Spain frontier and at the airport.
Unite have confirmed that following the calling of industrial action in Borders & Coastguards for this Friday (24th May 2024) on the issues of health and safety including the provision of adequate welfare facilities at the airport, last ditch talks with Government “have failed to produce a resolution acceptable to members.”
The Self Determination for Gibraltar Group (SDGG), in conjunction with Gibraltar Cultural Services (GCS), has announced the launch of the National Day Poster Competition, open to local students aged 18 and under. The competition aims to find an innovative design which will be used by GCS to promote this year’s National Day Programme of Events.
The Government says it notes the announcement by the Prime Minister, Rishi Sunak, that the Parliament at Westminster is to be dissolved and a General Election convened for Thursday, 4th July, 2024.
