The Royal Gibraltar Police (RGP) investigation into the allegation that ‘whistle-blowers’ were incentivised to provide evidence to the McGrail Inquiry “has not uncovered any evidence that meets the threshold for criminal prosecution for Misconduct in Public Office.”
Two local men were cleared this morning of wounding a man in an incident that took place last December. Richard Valarino and Tyrone Garcia were found not guilty of wounding with intent, wounding and criminal damage after the alleged victim in the case withdrew his complaint against the defendants following an earlier negative statement made to the police.
Several of the inflatable waterparks installed at beaches have been damaged as a result of the bad weather conditions and severe easterly winds which hit the Rock over the weekend. Some of the units were deflated and stored away while others which came loose and ended up on the shore, have had to be secured as best as possible.
The Commissioner of the Royal Gibraltar Police, Edward Yome, has today expressed his disappointment at the level of driver misbehaviour detected during Operation Roadwatch.
