Gibraltar’s representation at the Labour Party Conference continued yesterday evening with the Gibraltar Reception hosted by the Chief Minister Fabian Picardo and featuring a keynote speech by the UK Minister for Europe and the Overseas Territories Stephen Doughty MP.
Service users from St Bernadette’s Resource Centre and Waterport Day Centre, along with residents of Mount Alvernia, have been working hard over the past few months learning new skills with which to prepare a wide selection of arts and crafts for a stall at this year’s Convent Christmas Fair.
Last week, Minister for Heritage Steven Linares unveiled two plaques commemorating the sinking of the U.S Coast Guard Cutter Tampa, sunk by an enemy submarine in the Bristol Channel in 1918, and those who died on the U.S.S Chancey in 1917, while engaged on patrol duty off the Straits of Gibraltar.
The Department of Education and the Kusuma Trust Gibraltar are proud to announce that members of the prestigious British Science Museum are once again visiting Gibraltar to conduct a series of experiments throughout the week at the Ince’s Hall for the benefit of school children. This is their fifth visit to Gibraltar.
