Gibraltar’s representation at the Labour Party Conference continued yesterday evening with the Gibraltar Reception hosted by the Chief Minister Fabian Picardo and featuring a keynote speech by the UK Minister for Europe and the Overseas Territories Stephen Doughty MP.
The GSD has accused the Government of holding Gibraltar “hostage” by its Sustainable Traffic And Transport Plan. The accusation comes in the context of a reply by Government to Opposition statements about what it describes as the “dire state” of parking and traffic in the town area.
A freighter dubbed the Hagland Boss was monitored by a Spanish naval warship this weekend. The vessel was carrying out a routine delivery of rocks from Morocco, to be used in the building of the groynes at Sandy Bay. Reporting on the incident, Spanish press have noted a coincidence in the ship’s arrival and the presence of a series of Royal Naval vessels in the bay.
