Gibraltar’s representation at the Labour Party Conference continued yesterday evening with the Gibraltar Reception hosted by the Chief Minister Fabian Picardo and featuring a keynote speech by the UK Minister for Europe and the Overseas Territories Stephen Doughty MP.
During the departure of the Fred Olsen cruise liner from the Cruise Terminal yesterday the ship paid tribute to Gibraltar by playing ‘the Land of Hope and Glory’ over the loudspeaker system.
Answering further questions today about the ever-escalating dispute between Gibraltar and Spain, UK Prime Minister David Cameron refused to rule out taking further action against Spain, including putting constraints on Spanish tourists coming to Britain.
The Telegraph has today reported that Mr. Cameron’s spokesman noted that their preference is to resolve the matter via political means and through dialogue with the Spanish Government.
