European Commission Executive Vice-President Maroš Šefčovič, Spanish Minister for Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation José Manuel Albares and UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy, together with the Chief Minister of Gibraltar Fabian Picardo, met in Brussels earlier today.
Newest RGP police dog Coco is a four-year-old female German Shepherd from the South Yorkshire Police. ‘COCO’ is the second female GPD with the RGP, the first being GPD ‘TARA’ who is paired with PC Jansen Olivero. The RGP now has four fully operational licensed GPDs including, ‘Coco’, ‘Prince’, ‘Tara’ and ‘Stig’.
Applications for this year’s annual Poetry Competition are now being accepted by the Ministry for Culture. The competition is open to Gibraltarians and residents of Gibraltar who may submit two original works.
The Deputy Chief Minister Dr Joseph Garcia briefly raised the delays at the border with the Deputy Prime Minister Nick Clegg at the Gibraltar stand during the Liberal Democrat conference in Glasgow. Dr Garcia thanked Mr Clegg for personally pressing the European Commission on the issue.
Plans were announced this morning by the Government outlining the hotly awaited Gibraltar University manifesto commitment. Education Minister Gilbert Licudi, flanked by the Chief Minister and his working team for the project, confidently insisted that the institute for Higher Education would be ready to open its doors by September 2015.
