June 07 - Childline Conference Success
Over 60 people attended Childline Gibraltar’s multidisciplinary conference earlier this week on the theme of “Working Together to Safeguard Children”. The main speaker on the day was John Cameron, Head of Child Protection Operations at the NSPCC. John managed to cover a wide range of topics on the day, and brought the conference delegates up to date with what has been happening in the UK as a result of the Jimmy Savile case and Operation Yewtree, in which he is heavily involved.
An unmissable opportunity to work in AquaGib has just been announced. Gibraltar’s top utility provider has confirmed that a vacancy has arisen for a Semi-Skilled Operative to work within the Water Networks Department.
His Worship the Mayor, Anthony Lima MBE RD*, will be hosting a Morning Coffee for the Friends of Gibraltar and the Heritage Trust next Monday 10th June at 10:30am at the City Hall.
The Government has announced the introduction of a new coach shuttle service for the users of Sandy Bay beach. Throughout the bathing season, the shuttle service will operate between Europa Point and Sandy Bay thus allowing the public to use the Europa Point Car Park when planning to spend the day at Sandy Bay. The service will operate daily from 1100hrs to 1900hrs and will depart every 15mins.
