Gibraltar’s representation at the Labour Party Conference continued yesterday evening with the Gibraltar Reception hosted by the Chief Minister Fabian Picardo and featuring a keynote speech by the UK Minister for Europe and the Overseas Territories Stephen Doughty MP.
The Minister for Health and the Environment, Dr John Cortes, has returned from New York where, together with CEO of the Department of the Environment, Dr Liesl Torres, he attended the United Nations Climate Summit, at the invitation of Secretary General Ban Ki-Moon.
As part of the Government’s six year plan to upgrade Gibraltar’s ageing sewage system, recent works have been carried out along Line Wall Road to fit a sleeve inside the former sewage line. Minister with responsibility for Technical Services, Paul Balban explained today that the sleeve is to be placed inside the sewage system and is made of a material that becomes extremely durable when liquid of a certain temperature passes through it.
