Gibraltar’s representation at the Labour Party Conference continued yesterday evening with the Gibraltar Reception hosted by the Chief Minister Fabian Picardo and featuring a keynote speech by the UK Minister for Europe and the Overseas Territories Stephen Doughty MP.
The Gibraltar International Bank has received approval in principle from the Financial Services Commission (FSC) to its application for a licence. Generally a schedule of conditions is attached which the Executive team will now work with to meet before the opening of the Bank. The conditions typically relate to operating systems, staffing levels, premises and compliance/operating structures.
This year the Gibraltar music Festival will host four stages that will provide more that 13 hours of live entertainment. More and more local and Spain based bands have expressed interest in the festival, and an extensive line up of these acts has been released.
Following wide spread reporting and speculation on an alleged bullying case within the ETB, Unite the Union has today made a public statement on the matter. They note their disappointment in the way the case is being dealt with, by the Government of Gibraltar.
